There has been no shortage of milestone moments – both professionally and personally – for our Landmark Homes teams.
As 2018 draws to a close, we asked a few of them to reflect on the year that was, find out what they’re looking forward to most about 2019, and get their insider expertise on the top trends we will see in home build and design.
Some of the highlights of 2018 include completing a lot of difficult earthquake rebuilds throughout the greater Canterbury area, and our Landmark Canterbury team are thrilled to have their clients back into their homes.
For a number of our franchisees, their professional highlights included being winners at the Registered Master Builders House of the Year awards.
Landmark Taupo, Rotorua, and Whakatane won Gold Reserve and the Local Category for their Lakeside showhome, Landmark Manawatu won a Gold and the Local Category for their Rata showhome in Palmerston North, and Landmark Canterbury won a Gold for their Leigh showhome in Christchurch – congratulations to all!
When we asked the teams about their favourite client projects of the year, we were overwhelmed with how many of them were highlighted.
Landmark Canterbury built a home for Mrs Ivory, who purchased a new section in Casebrook right beside one of her daughters. Following the loss of her husband, Mrs Ivory’s son and three daughters assisted her through the build and for the Landmark Canterbury team, the handover was truly a highlight!
Landmark Northland mentioned the Cashmore home in Whangarei. This home was the biggest they had built as a branch, and the clients were fantastic to work for – and more importantly, the home looks amazing!
Will Quigley from Landmark Homes Waikato combined a personal and professional highlight. The Waikato team built a beautiful home with the most fantastic views for Will’s family friends.
Looking forward to the new year, we asked the franchisees what some of the trends to come in 2019, are. Cedar cladding (although it needs a bit of maintenance) is fantastic, with the stains now coming in a huge range of colours for clients to choose from – from traditional to more contemporary.
Slatted wood, both inside and out, will be a feature in 2019, as will painted steel beams, coved and exposed trusses, and tiled feature walls – there is a constant supply of new tile designs, which give clients options galore.
The new year is also a busy time for new showhomes, with several Landmark teams looking forward to opening stunning new showhomes in Christchurch, Whangarei, Whakatane, Taupo, Palmerston North, Tauranga and New Plymouth. We look forward to seeing their gorgeous new Landmarks.
