Congratulations to our Landmark Homes franchises for winning big in the House of the Year 2020: Regional Awards!
The Registered Master Builders House of the Year awards celebrate the very best in residential building across New Zealand. With over 360 properties taking part at the Regional Level in 2020, this renowned competition is judged by a team of experts who visit each home at least once. Each property is then scored based on its workmanship, design, functionality and style – and awarded Quality Standards based on that score.
The Gold quality standard is 80% above industry standard, and Silver is 65% above industry standard.

Central Otago – Silver Award in the New Home $1m – $1.5m Category
A Design and Build project with Landmark Homes Central Otago, this architecturally designed home responds to the region’s majestic landscape, capturing views of Lake Wakatipu, Coronet Peak and The Remarkables. The double-height living area, stone-clad twin fireplace servicing indoors and outdoors, picture windows and natural materials are just a few of the home’s outstanding features.
The client requested that the design (destined for prestigious Jack’s Point) be suited to entertaining, which is highlighted by relaxed, contemporary living.
To complement the landscape, the home has been built with timber and stone. Both materials are celebrated inside and out, and clearly demonstrate the craftsmanship of the expert team at Landmark Homes Central Otago. A solar array helps reduce running costs and is unobtrusive in the design and landscape. Cleverly crafted to an exceptional standard, this home is as remarkable as the surrounding mountains. The latter opens straight out to an ‘outdoor room’, with a covered roof installed with New Zealand’s unpredictable weather in mind. Three bathrooms and two living rooms mean there’s plenty of space to enjoy.
The 292m2 build was completed with the owners overseas, but they remained fully involved in the process, resulting in a home that met the brief while making a statement of its own. Click here to see more photos.
