Glendhu Ready to Build plan

Modern Mountain Haven

The Landmark Homes Glendhu Ready to Build plan really does pack a big punch for its 166.5m² footprint!

Modern, well-appointed and beautifully designed, this Glendhu Ready to Build plan is a comfortable family home, offering four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a separate laundry, office, and generous open-plan kitchen/living/dining area.

The main objective when it came to the build, explains Wanaka’s Operations Manager Dionne Ryder, was to keep the property light (this can be tricky on long, narrow sections), and to make the best use of the space available.

As you walk through the front door, you’re greeted by a long, wide hallway lit from above by two Velux skylights — and a stunning brass-lined dark timber cubby to take off your snow-packed shoes in the winter, or jandals in the summer.

It’s luxe touches like this that elevate the home and give it an air of grandeur.

Stylish groove doorways to the bedrooms (with matching wardrobe doors inside) line the hallway and make a statement by themselves.

The master bedroom is a real showpiece, with a brass-lined timber feature wall, crafted from a brand-new flooring product that will undoubtedly become a firm favourite of the Landmark Homes Design Team! It also boasts a spacious walk-in wardrobe, floor-to-ceiling windows, and a classy and contemporary ensuite shower and toilet.

The family bathroom features a spectacular free-standing bath with floor mounted brushed gunmetal tap, perfect for relaxing in after a long day on the ski slopes. “When it first arrived, we freaked out and thought the water would miss the bath, but it waterfalls in beautifully. The bathroom build is precisely done, and works,” says Dionne.

Meanwhile, showers in both bathrooms have been cleverly designed to look like in vogue subway tile, when in fact, they are acrylic. This simple change makes the bathrooms more cost-effective, without sacrificing an ounce of style or function.

“With smart design decisions like this, we wanted to show prospective clients that you can get great quality for a great price,” explains Dionne.

A clever floor plan featuring a cavity slider means you can turn this home into a dual-living property, two bedrooms and one bathroom from the rest of the house – making it ideal for visiting friends and family or even as a short-term rental!

Light has been carefully considered throughout the home.

The open plan living/dining and kitchen boasts a big raking ceiling to add dimension, depth, and a sense of spaciousness — and opens out onto a sheltered outdoor patio, perfect for sipping coffee or eating breakfast outside on a sunny, crisp Wanaka day!

The patio is cleverly crafted from cut concrete that has been treated with silicon to look like more expensive pavers. “This is a really economical technique to zuzsh your outdoor living space, without blowing out your budget.”

The rest of landscaping is designed to be easy-care, making the design a dream holiday residence you can lock and leave, with ease – and spend more time enjoying what the area has to offer!

Like all Landmark Homes, this is a property that is built to complement the Kiwi landscape it sits in. The exterior is painted a muted grey and black that blends beautifully with the surrounding scenery.

The home’s interior design is heavily influenced by nature, perfectly in keeping with its mountain setting. Featuring oak flooring, walnut feature walls, concrete benchtops, striking black/timber cabinetry in the kitchen, and stone vanities in the bathroom.

“We wanted a material and colour palette that was natural, earthy and warm. It’s come up beautifully.”

Above all, this is a home that proves that good (and grand!) things can come in small packages.
